Using dry shampoo

Have you tried dry shampoo only to be disappointed. A white powdery film on your hair instead of the refreshed tresses you were hoping for. Or do you find that it does nothing for your hair.

This is a common problem. I think sometimes we expect  to much out of this product.  Yes it can give your hair that extra little umf to get through the day. It will refresshen it a day after or two since you shampooed,  but it won't absorb a lot of oil and grime.

Best way to use dry shampoo is before ging to bed, spray it through your roots brush lightly and go to bed. This gives the product time to work in and absorb the oils during the night. You can always spray a little more in the morning, using a light hand.

Tip: Dry shampoo makes a great texturerizer for fine hair. Forget spray wax. Try a little dry shampoo instead. For long wavy or beaching curls it works great too.

So don't give up on this great little product but don't expect miracles from it either. Here's a couple of brands that I have liked:

Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo, 3.4 Ounce
Kenra Platinum Dry Shampoo, 5-Ounce
Pravana Fresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo, 3.4 oz

Silver hair

Ok let's just address the elephant in the room, shall we? Silver hair! How do you feel about this color trend that has swept the fashion industry? Most stylist that I know are not so in to it. Would you like to know why your stylist tries to talk you out of this silver fox look?(unless you are one of the the very few that can pull it off)

1) It ages you. Look I don't care if your 21,31 or 85 grey hair will age you.

2) It will cast a shadow over your face making you look slightly ill all the time, unless you are willing to off set this effect by perfectly balanced contour, blush and highlight. As we age naturally our skin color and texture changes gradually as well with as our hair. But younger skin has a flush and glow that next to artificially grey hair, can look very washed-out.

3) Your hair has to be bleached very light to achieve the desired results. Often this means  bleaching through already colored hair. Needless to say their will be damage. If the hair is not light enough your final result will be a lovely  shade of GREEN!

4) Life after silver. After your hair has been bleached to pale blonde and toned to silver and now you want to go back to another color, well that's a whole new process. Your dealing with a tricky corrective color situation to return your hair back to a more natural hue.

But after taking all these things into consideration and you want to follow the hottest trend of the year, I say go for it! Heck hair always grows back!

For fun let's look back some past hot hair trends...
